I'd like to say I live by color and design, but maybe it is more that I thrive on color and design - it's what moves me. My path has always been creative - whether the 15 years in corporate marketing as a graphic designer or the 10 years in the kitchens of worldly gourmands as a professional chef and caterer. It's not as if all of that wasn't working; it's just that one day 5+ years ago I had an epiphany to "begin by designing fabrics using wool." This literally came to me one night after our son was born, and needless to say, was the simple part of the journey. The last six years have been about developing that idea and koochi ku - its designs, textiles and products. I receive a lot of joy and satisfaction in this endeavor and view this opportunity to "color the lives of others" as a tremendous life gift.
